Happy Go Lucky Quilt-A Finished Quilt!

Hi all!

Today I'm sharing with you a FINISHED quilt! :) yay!

I started this quilt wayyyy back here and I posted about it here too!

For this quilt I straight lined quilted it and I tried out a new method, I used painters tape to mark my lines. At first it was challenging, but I got the hang of it and it worked!!

And I didn't even use that much painters tape. I was able to re-use each piece of tape about 3 times or more depending on the stickiness of the tape.

Here is a good close up of the quilting.

And the yellow binding....

My friend Stacey gave me a label stamp that you can stamp on the labels that came with the kit, and then the labels are then ironed onto the fabric.
This is the first time I used the labels, and I really like how they turned out!!
And it's fun to actually have a quilt with a label on it saying I made the quilt!

And one last picture showing off all the quilty goodness!

I really love how lately all the photos I've taken outside have really showed off all of the quilting really, really well.

This quilt was gifted to my friend Stacey because she is a HUGE fan of the Happy Go Lucky fabric line.

Finished: 55 1/2x62 1/2 inches
Quilted: Straight line quilted by ME using painters tape to mark the quilting lines
Fabric: Floral print is Happy Go Lucky by Moda, white and grey solids from JoAnns.
Pattern: Made up by me! The floral strips are 2.5 inches wide.

Happy quilting!

  1. Very nice quilt. I like using painter's tape also - no markings to worry about. Where do you think we could find one of those label kits? Neat idea. Come by to WIPs Be Gone and share your eye candy.

    1. My friend got the label maker from Pick Your Plum.com. Maybe try looking on that site. She did get it for me almost a year ago, but hopefully you can find it!

  2. Your friend Stacey is a lucky girl! That's a nice sized quilt and is really beautiful. I can see why she would like the fabric! I've never seen a label maker like this one, but it looks as though the labels are meant to last a while. That makes it work its weight in gold (as the saying goes). Great finish!
