DIY shiplap wall

HI!
Today I have my DIY shiplap wall to share with you. There are a TON of tutorials on pinterest, and I took ideas from several of them to shiplap one wall in my mudroom.

Here is what I used to complete this project:
2-4x8 sheets of underlayment from LOWES $15 each

Everything listed below I had on hand:
White semi gloss interior paint
Chop saw
Table saw
Nail gun
Air compressor
Nickels as spacers

At LOWES buying a 4x8 sheet of underlayment. One sheet was $15. I had the guy at LOWES rip this down to 5 3/4 inches wide. I was able to get 8 strips from each 4x8 sheet of underlayment.

Here is what the wall looked like BEFORE.

BEFORE
I used a level to mark all my studs on the wall from ceiling to floor.

DURING
We used the table saw to cut out the notches to fit around the door frame and outlets. And we used the chop saw to cut the strips of underlayment to fit on the wall.
I ended up staggering the strips, so that the seams didn't match up. I wanted all the seams to be off set.
And we used nickels as spacers so there is a slight gap between the boards. I did this because I didn't want the boards sitting directly on top of one another.

We used the nail gun and air compressor to attach the strips of underlayment to the wall.

And I used interior paint I had on hand to paint the shiplap once it was all on the wall. I did two coats of paint.

And here is the AFTER!
