Hi all!
Today I'm sharing with you a simple jelly roll half square triangle (hst) quilt top.
Ops! The top 2 photos are out of order. So I started with jelly roll strips (2 1/2 inches by width of fabric) and sewed 4 strips together, then cut them into squares (see first photo).
Next I paired each jelly roll strip square with a solid grey square (right sides together), drew,a line down the center then sewed 1/4 inch on each side of the line, and last cut on the line to yield 2 hsts.
I laid all the blocks out and then began sewing! I ended up with 50 blocks total.
The layout ended up being 7x7 blocks (with 1 left over).
Here's what I've decided on for backing fabric, yellow and grey, both from JoAnns.
The jelly roll strips were given to me by my mom and were extras, so it wasn't a complete jelly roll when I got it.
Here's to finishing some quilts in 2016!!!
And using my stash!!!
Happy sewing!
Great idea! I love the way it is turning out!
